Having known Murray longer than the rest of us, Bentley filled us in on what had happened. Once K.U.R.T. was installed into his team's van, The hippo found half the section in a pile of old documents that belonged to Thaddeus Winslow Cooper III. But no sooner were they about to take off for Death Mansion that Raleigh had escaped prison & taken Mz. Ruby with him. Mz. Ruby was born into a family of mystics and was feared by other children due to the intimidation of her strange powers. Thus, learning to summon the undead was the only possible method she had of gaining friends. Years of bitterness led an adult Ruby to use her voodoo talents to commit crimes in order to take revenge on the world for fearing her as a child. She became the Chief Mystic of the Fiendish Five, which allowed the group to break both the laws of man and nature at the same time. So, she's got Murray & K.U.R.T.? I'll just take them both back, as well as the half of Maria's section in the Cooper gang's possession.

Mz. Ruby begged & pleaded for me to spare her life, on account of she saw the place as a dream come true: a manor filled with ghosts, goblins & the dead. I granted her request, so long as she didn't stab me in the back to make me a zombie slave. Mz. Ruby told us of what had went on before the mansion started to crumble. On Maria's wedding day, a mysterious Phantom, unknown to anyone, appeared at the manor. While Maria was preparing in her room, the Phantom lured her suitor up to the attic where he hanged him by the neck from the rafters. The Phantom was still in the house, laughing at her human devotion to her intended husband. One after one, he invited every member of the Johnson dynasty from the afterlife to fill the house in an eternal party. The shape of the house was slowly transformed by evil forces. The earthquake that killed her parents cut a huge gouge in the west half of the property and in the crumbling ghost town of the old Thunder Mesa. The deserted buildings were rumored to be called Phantom Canyon, the dark supernatural version of the town, and anyone who entered the ghastly old town at night never came back.

(The Johnson clan (including Bentley, K.U.R.T. & Murray) are gathered around a campfire, listening to Mz. Ruby telling a ghost story concerning Death Mansion)

Mz. Ruby: Today, no one knows if Maria Johnson is still alive in that old house on the hill. If she is, then she is well over 100 years old. Her beautiful voice still carries over the town at night though, through the walls and night air. And sometimes at night, people still see lights in the house.
Murray: This is getting scarier by the minute.
K.U.R.T.: I know. My fear circuits are starting to overload from hearing all this.
Mz. Ruby: Some nights, when the moon is full and the sky is clear of clouds, you can still hear the lonely mourning of the bride, the maniacal laughter of the Phantom, the faint tinkle of glass and the laughter of party guests. Whether she is alive or not, what is well known is that poor Maria never really left that crumbling mansion. She waits for her groom until Judgment Day.
Jiraiya: Well, that seems scary, yet informative. I finally know what happened in Death Mansion to warrant such a moniker.
Laura: Oh master, please don't disappear on your wedding day.
Bentley: Now, don't worry, Laura. Jiraiya loves you too much to leave you. Meanwhile, I'm postulating a theory on this phantom.
Penelope: Which is?
Bentley: I think the phantom is her father, Sir Percival Johnson, *spooky voice* seeking revenge from beyond the grave.
Bruce: Woof, woof, woof. (Hey guys, I think I see someone spying on us.)
Tank: What is it, boy?
(Sly Cooper pops out from behind a bush, covered in mud & breathing heavily)
Murray: Sly! Oh, boy am I glad to see you! (picks Sly up, hugging him.)
Sly: Oh, hey Murray, Bentley, K.U.R.T.
K.U.R.T.: Murray, give the 'coon some air. (to Sly) Hey boss, great to see you again.
Jiraiya: Hello, Cooper. (prepares to draw sword)
